Gadsden Independent School District proudly hosted the 2025 Parent Institute at Chaparral High School, offering families an engaging day of learning, connection, and community celebration. The event featured workshops in both English and Spanish, focusing on topics such as student well-being, bilingual education, college and career readiness, digital safety, and family engagement strategies.
The day began with a warm welcome from Maria Hernandez, Chief Academic Officer, and Nubia Tarazona, Director for Language, Equity, and Culture. Their remarks set the tone for a day centered on partnership, equity, and opportunity for all students.
Attendees explored a variety of informational booths, participated in interactive sessions, and enjoyed cultural performances from GISD students, including a vibrant Ballet Folklórico showcase.
