The Gadsden Independent School District is proud to welcome Victoria Galarza as its new Director of Nursing.

Galarza brings nearly a decade of experience serving GISD students and families. A proud graduate of the district and member of the Chaparral community, she began her career with GISD as a nurse at Chaparral High School before later serving as the district’s Medicaid Coordinator.

Reflecting on her time at Chaparral High School, Galarza said working directly with students opened her eyes to the many challenges some children face and reinforced her commitment to serving her community through education and healthcare.

“What makes GISD special is the amount of love and care that our staff puts into our schools and our students,” Galarza said. “Education and health are truly priorities here, and everyone is committed to helping students succeed.”

As Director of Nursing, Galarza looks forward to supporting student health services across the district while continuing GISD’s mission of putting students first.
